Dancer Jean Babilee dies

Celebrated dancer Jean Babilee has died, aged 90. The French star, who was considered one of modern ballet’s greatest performers, passed away in Paris, France on 30 January (14). No further details about his death were known as WENN went to press.
He shot to fame in 1946 in a production of Le Jeune Homme et la Mort, which he went on to preform across Europe and the U.S.
During his career, Babilee danced with Le Ballet de l’Opera de Paris and the American Ballet Theatre in New York City, while he also acted in a number of films and was featured in 2000 documentary Le Mystere Babilee, during which he was interviewed by fellow dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. He last appeared onstage in 2003.
Babilee is survived by his wife, filmmaker Zapo Babilee.
