Former Bond Girl Karin Dor Dies

Former Bond girl Karin Dor has died, aged 79.

The actress, who starred opposite Sean Connery’s incarnation of James Bond in 007 flick You Only Live Twice, passed away on Monday (06Nov17).

Her son Andreas confirmed the news to German newspaper Bild, with it also reported that Dor suffered from health problems stemming from a “heavy” fall last year.

The late star played villain Helga Brandt in the 1967 movie, seducing Connery’s sleuth alter ego. She also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Topaz, about a French intelligence agent who becomes entangled in the Cold War politics of the events leading up to the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, two years later.

Dor worked frequently with her ex-husband, Austrian filmmaker Harald Reinl, with the pair together releasing features including Room 13, As Long as You Live and The Terrible People.

The star also landed roles on several television programs, including The F.B.I., It Takes a Thief and Ironside. Her last project was 2015 German drama Die abhandene Welt.
