Remembering ‘Grease’ Star Olivia Newton-John

‘Grease’ star Olivia Newton-John died Monday at the age of 73. The 4 time Grammy winner and beloved movie star announced she was battling her third round of breast cancer back in 2017.

Olivia’s husband, John Easterling, posted to her Instagram page announcing the news. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” he wrote. “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation. 

She was a pop and movie icon 

Olivia made waves in the movie industry with her good-girl gone bad persona, playing Sandy in the movie musical Grease. She went on to star in another movie musical called Xanadu.

She also had a blossoming music career, known for pop hits like ‘Physical,” “Twist of Fate,” and “I Love You, I Honestly Love You.”

John Travolta pays tribute

John Travolta, who played bad boy Danny Zuko in Grease, honored the late Olivia Newton-John with a touching Instagram post. The pair met when filming Grease and fostered a close relationship throughout the years.

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much,” he wrote. “We will see you down the road, and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
