Hollywood actor George Clooney dined with astronauts including the commander played by Tom Hanks in Apollo 13 at a special event in Texas to mark 45 years since the doomed moon landing mission.
During the event in Houston, Clooney mingled with legends including Jim Lovell, notably portrayed by Hanks in the 1995 movie, Apollo 10 commander Thomas P. Stafford, and Eugene Cernan, who was also part of the last Apollo lunar expedition in 1972.
The glitzy black tie gala was held in an aircraft hangar and guests dined in a room made to look like the surface of the moon to celebrate 45 years since the Apollo 13 team cheated death and returned to Earth safely after suffering massive technical problems.
