Gravity looks set to rule the 12th annual Visual Effects Society Awards after landing eight nominations. Alfonso Cuaron’s space drama, starring Sandra Bullock, is up for the top prize of Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-driven Feature, as well as awards for Created Environments, Outstanding Compositing and Simulation Animation.
Following Gravity with the most nominations in features is Pacific Rim, with six, and Iron Man 3 and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, with five each.
The awards will be handed out at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California on 12 February (14).
