Hip hop star Gucci Mane released from jail after probation violation

Embattled rapper Gucci Mane has been freed from jail, almost three weeks after his latest arrest for an alleged probation violation. The hip-hop star, real name Radric Davis, turned himself in to authorities in late March (13) after a warrant was issued for his arrest following claims he had hit a soldier over the head with a bottle at a nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia. He was indicted for aggravated assault on 9 April (13) and released from custody on 12 April (13) after posting $75,000 (£46,875) bail, but he found himself back behind bars 24 hours later (13Apr13) amid allegations of a separate issue with his probation.

According to TMZ.com, Mane was allowed to walk free once again on Thursday (02May13) and he is due back in court later this month (May13). The rapper has endured several run-ins with the law over the years, even serving time in prison in 2011 following his conviction on charges of battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct for pushing a woman out of a moving car.
