Idris Elba to make Glastonbury festival debut

Actor Idris Elba is set to make his debut at Britain’s Glastonbury festival later this year (14). The Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom star, who is also a DJ and rapper, has confirmed he will be appearing at the world-famous weekend event in June (14).
In a new interview with music streaming service website Spotify, he also reveals he has been inspired by his role as late South African leader Nelson Mandela to create “character albums”, which will feature music based on major movie characters, and he has discussed a possible album project with Robert De Niro, based on the movie icon’s Vito Corleone character from the Godfather trilogy.
Arcade Fire, Dolly Parton, Lily Allen, Disclosure, Lana Del Rey and Blondie have all been confirmed to perform at this year’s Glastonbury festival in Somerset, England.
