Julianne Moore calls for Boy Scouts leaders to modernise discriminatory policies

The Kids Are All Right star has thrown her support behind Jennifer Tyrrell, who was removed from her role as the head of her son’s Cub Scout troop because of her sexual orientation last month (Apr12).

Tyrrell subsequently launched an online petition calling for change in the organisation’s discriminatory policies to better embrace gay youths and community leaders and it soon boasted more than 300,000 signatures.

The cause also caught the attention of a slew of celebrities including Kelly Osbourne, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Hutcherson and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and now Moore has added her voice to the campaign ahead of America’s Mother’s Day holiday on Sunday (13May12).
