Lost silent film found in abandoned Dutch cinema

A lost 1923 film has been unearthed in an abandoned Dutch cinema. Love, Life and Laughter, which stars Britain’s most successful silent actress Betty Balfour, has been added to the Dutch Film Institute’s archives.
It’s not a huge surprise the movie was discovered in Holland – because Balfour enjoyed a great deal of success there, thanks to her role as flower girl Squibs Hopkins in a series of 1920s era silent movies.
Technicians are planning to restore the tinted nitrate film and re-release it.
