Mariah Carey: ‘Nick Cannon jumped the gun on kids’ book release’

Pop superstar Mariah Carey has put her husband Nick Cannon on blast for prematurely announcing their plans to publish a festive children’s book inspired by their twins. The actor/rapper and TV personality revealed last month (Jan14) that life with little Moroccan and Monroe had prompted them to write Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas, with illustrations by New York Times bestselling artist AG Ford.
However, Carey insists her husband had no right to share the news with the world because they had yet to finalise all the smaller details and the related ventures they have planned.
In an interview with New York’s Power 105.1 radio on Wednesday (12Feb14), she said, “Oh, Nick released a press release (about the book), but I have not agreed to those terms…
“Nick jumps the gun. He jumps the gun and that’s all I’m gonna say. I’m not ready to talk about any babies’ books or anything like that.”
However, Carey did share that she is developing a festive film – although details are scarce.
She added, “I have a Christmas movie that is in the works for next year; we have books and things surrounding that and Nick and myself need to sit down and work out detail and line by line, everything we’re doing.”
