A U.S.-born Filipino beauty queen has been crowned Miss World 2013. Miss Philippines, Megan Young, saw off competition from 126 other contestants, including runner up Marine Lorphelin from France and third place Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter of Ghana, to claim the coveted title during a ceremony on the Indonesian island of Bali on Saturday (28Sep13).
The 23 year old, who moved to the Philippines when she was 10 years old, was presented with the Miss World sash by last year’s (12) winner, Yu Wenxia of China.
