New The Doors film offers up rare early footage of rock band

Footage from Robby Krieger, John Densmore and the late Ray Manzarek’s personal archives has been mined for a new The Doors DVD and Blu-Ray release, which will also feature the band’s rare early TV appearances. R-Evolution, which will be released in December (13), chronicles the rock act’s speedy rise from an unknown Los Angeles band to legendary status.
It features a treasure trove of previously unreleased footage including performances of hits like Light My Fire, People Are Strange and Hello, I Love You, a never-before-seen 1966 Ford training film with music by The Doors and a section of outtakes from the band’s appearance on U.S. TV show Malibu U in 1967.
A Deluxe Edition of the DVD and Blu-Ray features a 40-page hardback book with a “scrapbook” style presentation on each track, including lyrics, background information, trivia and photographs.
The restored and remixed package also features commentary from Densmore, Krieger and Manzarek, who died earlier this year (13).
