Model/athlete Noah Galloway proposed to his girlfriend during the live broadcast of U.S. reality show Dancing With The Stars on Monday night (11May15).
The former U.S. Army veteran, who lost his left arm and left leg above the knee while on duty in the Middle East in 2005, was taken backstage for an interview with presenter Erin Andrews after his dance to David Cook’s Time of My Life.
His girlfriend Jamie Boyd was waiting backstage and Galloway took the opportunity to get down on one knee and propose in front of all the professional dancers and celebrity contestants, who cheered as Boyd nodded ‘Yes’.
Galloway tells People.com, “I always thought if I made it to the finale I would propose, but I realised the competition is so stiff I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by in case this is the end of the road for me on the show.”
This week (begs11May15), Galloway and his dance partner Sharna Burgess are competing in the semi finals against gymnast Nastia Liukin, singer Riker Lynch and actress Rumer Willis.
