The actor, who played Richie in the cult martial arts movie, was in Harlem, New York when a gunman opened fire, hitting O’Brien in the stomach and left arm.
O’Brien was taken to a nearby hospital and, after days of treatment, he has finally been released from doctors’ care.
The star tells TMZ.com, “I’m feeling much better.”

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
