Police probe Justin Bieber’s unauthorised airport escort

Officials in Florida have launched an investigation into allegations Justin Bieber received an unauthorised police escort from an airport near Miami on Monday night (20Jan14). The Baby hitmaker’s private jet touched down in South Florida and the singer reportedly had two Opa-locka city cop cars accompany his vehicle as he was driven away from the airstrip.
A fan’s video footage of the alleged incident has since surfaced online, prompting an internal probe into the matter.
A representative for the Opa-locka police force tells TMZ.com the “usage of the vehicles was unauthorised by the Chief” and is therefore now under investigation.
Bieber’s stop in Miami has already hit headlines after he allegedly blew $75,000 (£46,875) during a night out at a strip club.
The Canadian singer has since jetted off to Cuba, where he has been photographed smoking a cigar.
The teen pop sensation isn’t the first celebrity to get officers in trouble – rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was reportedly given special treatment by New York cops as he rushed to a New Jersey nightclub for an appearance in 2011, while two Washington, D.C. officers were demoted in the same year after arranging a special escort for Charlie Sheen as he dashed to a comedy show in the U.S. capital.
