Professor Green mourned late father on wedding day

Professor Green’s wedding day was tinged with sadness as he felt the absence of his late father. The I Need You Tonight hitmaker married reality TV star Millie Mackintosh in September (13), but the British rapper admits his big day was overshadowed by the loss of his dad, Peter, who committed suicide in 2008.
Green was estranged from his father at the time of his death, and he now regrets not reaching out to him.
In a new documentary for Britain’s Radio 1, titled Suicide Survivors, he says, “Since Dad died, I’ve been through a whole spectrum of emotions… It also made me realise how stupid not reaching out over pride was.
“I got married recently. It brought everything back to the surface, because my dad wasn’t there to see it. My father wasn’t at my wedding, not because of some unfortunate accident, but because of a decision that he made… We (my wife and I) went up to my nan’s (grandmother’s) house the other day. Nan was doing what she always does and annoyingly showing my now wife pictures of me as a kid. Out comes one with my dad.
“I haven’t cried in years, but I saw his face and it just broke me down. There was just a void, thinking about how I haven’t got him in my life.”
