Rapper Bobby Shmurda to testify in prison contraband case

Rapper BOBBY SHMURDA is to testify in front of a grand jury in his prison contraband case.
The hip-hop star, real name Ackquille Pollard, was re-arrested last week after he was caught in possession of a “sharpened metal instrument” while in jail earlier this month (Jun15).
He is currently serving time in a New York correctional facility, where he reportedly received the object from his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau.
She has reportedly pleaded guilty to promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon and Pollard will face a grand jury on Wednesday (01Jul15), when he is expected to plead not guilty to charges against him.
The rapper’s lawyer, Riki Ghosh, tells Bossip.com, “He’s looking forward to testifying. I think a lot of people are out to get a young person who is successful. I think he is innocent of the charges, and I think, hopefully, the grand jury will see that.”
If he is convicted of the contraband charge, he faces a further seven years in prison.
Pollard is facing separate charges of murder, gun possession, drug dealing and conspiracy after being arrested as part of a police sting in Manhattan in December (14).
He recently rejected a plea deal for a charge of second-degree possession of a weapon and five years of probation.
