Ricky Wilson feared Kaiser Chiefs were over

British rocker Ricky Wilson feared his band Kaiser Chiefs would be forced to split when drummer Nick Hodgson quit. Hodgson, a founder member of the band and co-writer of some of its biggest hits, announced his shock departure from the Ruby hitmakers in December, 2012 after 15 years on the road.
Fans were left reeling by the news, and now frontman Wilson admits he feared it was the end of the band.
He tells NME magazine, “There was a large element of jeopardy. When Nick said he was leaving, we thought it was over. But about this time last year, the four of us booked out a barn in Bath (in south west England) and rehearsed. It lit a spark underneath me… (and) gave me my ambition back.”
Kaiser Chiefs’ fifth album – their first without Hodgson – is due for release in March (14).
