Australian actor Robert Hughes has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges stemming from allegations he abused five young girls. The former Hey Dad..! star was extradited from Britain back to his native country last December (12) to face allegations he molested five youngsters in Australia between 1985 and 1990, and he appeared at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court on Friday (26Jul13) to plead not guilty.
Hughes, 64, denied 11 charges of sexual and indecent assault and he will now stand trial in February (14).
The actor’s lawyer Greg Walsh told reporters outside the court, “He asserts his innocence and it’s being vigorously defended.”
