Robert Picardo wants estranged wife silenced over gay affair allegations

Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo is seeking a court order to silence his estranged wife amid allegations she is spreading false rumours about his sexuality. The 60-year-old star claims his wife of 30 years, Linda Pawlik, who he is in the process of divorcing, has been telling friends that he has been having a secret gay affair with his longtime pal, U.S. TV legend Bill Nye.
However, Picardo is outraged by the accusations because he insists his close friendship with the host of children’s show Bill Nye The Science Guy is purely platonic, reports TMZ.com.
He pours doubt on the affair allegations in court papers by writing, “I’d made it to 60 without having sex with a man and a ‘walk on the wild side’ at this age seemed unlikely to anyone who knows me.”
Picardo and Pawlik hit headlines last month (Jul14), when police paid them a visit at their California home after an emergency call was placed from the house, only for the caller to hang up.
No arrests were made, but Pawlik subsequently obtained a restraining order against the actor, banning him from approaching or contacting her until the end of July (14).
The couple filed for divorce in 2012.
