HBO has picked an all-star cast, including Uma Thurman, Juliette Lewis, Gena Rowlands and Ben Gazzara, for its new original movie, Hysterical Blindness. Thurman also will executive produce, with Mira Nair (Mississippi Masala) attached to direct. Shooting will begin mid-May. Adapted from Laura Cahill’s stage play, Blindness is a comedic drama about two New Jersey women (Thurman and Lewis) on the quest for love and meaning in their lives. They soon realize that the simplest of dreams can be hard to attain. Rowlands will play Thurman‘s mother; Gazzara will play Rowlands‘ love interest.
