20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four, a project based on the Marvel comic book series, has found its director: Peyton Reed (Bring It On). Chris Columbus and Brian Helgeland (Payback) previously had been attached to direct. Reed and the producers are looking for a new writer. The film has been in development for several years at Fox, changing writers frequently. But the premise remains the same: four astronauts, who receive superhuman powers after their spaceship goes through cosmic rays, become the Fantastic Four-Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing, fighting their nemesis Doctor Doom.
