The Closer star has two kids with her actor husband Kevin Bacon and their youngest, daughter Sosie, recently left home to pursue her studies.
Sedgwick admits she’s not dealing well with empty nest syndrome and is trying to refrain from bombarding the 18 year old with “irritating” text messages.
Speaking on U.S. TV’s The View, she says, “It’s going OK, it’s a process. I’ve had a couple of really bad days, but I’ve had a couple of really great days.
“It’s absolutely the nature of things, but it’s like it’s your favourite job and you get fired, and to an extent you really do! But it’s OK. I text but I really try not to text too much. Every day I would love to know what’s going on, but I don’t want to send that irritating text, so I wait.”
Sedgwick and Bacon are also parents to son Travis, 21.
