Singer Bobby Mansfield dies

Singer Bobby Mansfield has passed away at the age of 76. Mansfield was the lead singer of 1950s vocal group the Wrens, who scored a big a hit with Come Back My Love.
The group’s time in the spotlight was shortlived, and they split in 1956, when the frontman joined the Morrisania Revue, which brought different singers from popular 1950s Bronx groups together.
Mansfield organised a Wrens reunion in 1986 and the group was inducted into the United In Group Harmony Association’s Hall of Fame in 1998.
The New Yorker died on Sunday (15Sep13). A memorial service will be held at Granby’s Funeral Home in the Bronx on Friday (20Sep13).
