Singer Michael Johnson dies at 72

Singer has died at the age of 72.
The Bluer Than Blue hitmaker passed away on Tuesday following a long illness, according to Billboard.com.
Johnson found success after winning an international talent contest while he was in college and he was signed to Epic Records, where he released his debut song, Hills.
Johnson went on to join Randy Sparks in the New Society and when the band broke up, he formed Denver, Boise & Johnson with singer/songwriter John Denver.
He also found success on stage as the star of an off-Broadway production of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
He returned to music in 1971 and released the acclaimed solo album There Is A Breeze in 1973. Johnson was best known for his songs Bluer Than Blue, Give Me Wings, and The Moon Is Still Over Her Shoulder.
