Survivor: The Australian Outback cast member Michael Skupin was allegedly pepper sprayed by an animal rights activist in Columbia, Mo. on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. David Cravens was arrested following the incident and was charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault (he also hit two bystanders with the spray). Earlier this year, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) expressed concern over Skupin’s killing of a pig in an episode of Survivor, calling the act cruel and unnecessary. A spokesperson for PETA said they were not involved in the incident, and Cravens himself admitted to acting alone.
