The Dark Valley leads German Oscars

Sam Riley’s revenge drama The Dark Valley looks set to sweep the board at the German version of the Oscars after landing nine nominations. The Control star missed out on a Best Actor nod at the German Film Academy Awards, known as the Lolas, but his movie landed a slew of nominations including Best Picture, Best Director for Andreas Prochaska, and Best Supporting Actor for Tobias Moretti.
The other nominees for the coveted Best Picture award include Home From Home: Chronicle of a Vision, which landed a further five nods, Suck Me Shakespeer, Finsterworld, Two Lives and Love Steaks.
The Lolas will be handed out at a ceremony in Berlin on 9 May (14).
