Tim McGraw Horses Around

Who does Tim McGraw think he is, a rapper? The country superstar, whose hits include “Indian Outlaw,” was arrested Saturday in Orchard Park, N.Y., accused of attacking law officers giving chase to a purloined horse — a horse allegedly purloined by McGraw’s buddy and entertainer Kenny Chesney.

Today, an attorney for McGraw called the incident “a misunderstanding,” which is as good a way as any to explain the evening’s events.

It all started at the site of the George Strait Country Music Festival where the two men were playing. During their downtime, Chesney asked the young daughter of an Erie Sheriff’s Department deputy if he could sit on her daddy’s law enforcement horsey.

Permission was granted.

Problem was, Chesney just didn’t sit on the pony, officials say, he made it go giddyap. As deputies gave chase after their hooves, McGraw allegedly “attacked” them.

Chesney was arrested for disorderly conduct. The 33-year-old McGraw, husband of country superstar Faith Hill (“This Kiss,” “Breathe”), was booked on suspicion of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and other charges. He’s currently free on $2,500 bail.
