Tulisa Contostavlos: ‘I was preparing for jail over drugs trial’

British pop star Tulisa Contostavlos was convinced she would be jailed when she was set up to broker a cocaine deal for an undercover reporter. The former N-Dubz singer was arrested last year (13) after a story appeared in The Sun on Sunday newspaper accusing her of acting as a go-between in a $1,360 (£800) drugs deal.
She was cleared of the offence when the trial collapsed last month (Jul14) over inconsistencies in the journalist’s evidence, and Contostavlos has now revealed how she was certain she would lose the case and be slung in prison.
She tells British newspaper The Guardian, “My heart told me: There’s no way this can happen. I’m very religious and I kept saying, God won’t forsake me… My head was telling me, if they’re allowed to take it this far, to tell so many lies, God knows where it can go… I was preparing for prison.”
