Usher’s ex-wife granted emergency custody hearing

Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster has been granted an emergency court hearing on Friday (09Aug13) to re-evaluate the couple’s custody arrangement after their eldest son almost drowned in the singer’s pool. The Yeah! hitmaker’s five-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, was admitted to the intensive care unit of an Atlanta, Georgia hospital on Monday (05Aug13) after getting his arm stuck in a swimming pool drain while trying to retrieve a toy.
The boy and his younger brother were being cared for by his aunt and a maid at the time of the incident, and now Foster, who has limited custodial rights to the boys, is demanding a review of the custody ruling after accusing the superstar of abdicating his parental responsibilities by letting others look after their kids.
In court documents obtained by TMZ.com, Foster also alleges that Usher is creating a dangerous environment for their children, adding that their aunt is too physical when disciplining her sons.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge John J. Goger approved the hearing request hours after it was filed on Tuesday (06Aug13) and scheduled the court case for Friday.
Usher was awarded primary custody of their two sons last year (12) after a bitter and lengthy court battle following the breakdown of his two-year marriage to Foster in 2009.
