Will.i.am celebrates Black Eyed Peas bandmate Taboo’s cancer recovery

will.i.am enjoyed a “beautiful moment” onstage with Black Eyed Peas bandmate Taboo as they celebrated the star’s recovery from cancer in London on Thursday (04Jul19).
Taboo, who started making music again last year (18), has been in remission for five years after he was diagnosed with stage two testicular cancer in 2014.
The rapper, real name Jaime Luis Gomez, appeared alongside Will.i.am and his fellow bandmate, apl.de.ap, at the House Festival in London this week and Will.i.am admits being reunited with Taboo brought back painful memories of watching his friend undergo chemotherapy treatment.
“Yesterday we played the House festival and Taboo was crowd surfing,” he told The Independent on Friday at the O2 Silver Clef Awards in London. “I just remembered Taboo sitting in the hospital with IVs (intravenous drips) in him, bags under his eyes from going through chemo and him saying: ‘I just want to go back onstage, man’.”
The Let’s Get it Started hitmaker was thrilled to see Gomez interacting with fans again.
“To see him being tossed around crowd surfing was just a magical moment,” he shared. “We did it bro. We did it! That was a beautiful moment.”
