Williams was left devastated when Ledger, the father of her daughter Matilda, passed away after suffering an accidental drug overdose in January, 2008.
The blonde beauty admits she spent so long grieving, she forgot how to enjoy herself – and was surprised by the good times she had filming her new romantic drama with Ryan Gosling.
She tells Britain’s Telegraph magazine, “It was my first experience of work being fun in a long, long time. Especially during the first part of making the movie, the falling-in-love part. That was the beginning of feeling myself again for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten. I was surprised that I could feel like that.
“I just felt good to be able to use my mind again in that way, that I had some impulses left, that there was anything in me at all.”
