Police Academy director Hugh Wilson dead at 74

Hugh Wilson, the man behind the first Police Academy movie and cult U.S. sitcom Wkrp In Cincinnati, has died.
The Emmy-winning writer, producer and director was 74.
Wilson also directed The First Wives Club.
He executive produced all 90 episodes of WKRP and also wrote the scripts for over a dozen episodes, according to Deadline.com.
Wilson also created The New WKRP in Cincinnati, which aired briefly in 1991.
He picked up an Emmy in the late 1980s for writing an episode of diner comedy series Frank’s Place.
