Beloved British broadcaster James Alexander Gordon dead at 78

British broadcasting legend James Alexander Gordon has died at the age of 78. The golden-voiced radio star read the classified soccer results on BBC radio for over four decades before stepping down last year (13) after he was diagnosed with cancer during throat surgery.
He began reading the results of Saturday’s soccer games in England and Scotland in 1973.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1936, he contracted polio when he was six months old and spent much of his childhood in hospital.
He joined the BBC in 1972.
