Stage collapse on Resident Evil 5 set injures 16

Cameras stopped rolling on the Toronto set in the early hours of Tuesday when a wheeled platform inside the Cinespace Film Studios crashed to the ground, injuring 12 actors dressed as zombies and four members of the production team.

Emergency services were called to the scene, although they had trouble establishing how badly the actors had been hurt due to the fake bandages and blood they were covered with for their roles as the undead for the forthcoming fifth installment of the Resident Evil film franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ten of the victims were taken to a local hospital for further treatment, although none of the injuries are considered life-threatening, according to police reports.

The sci-fi movie’s star Milla Jovovich was not onset at the time of the accident, which TMZ.com claims is now being investigated by officials from the Toronto Police Department and the Ministry of Labor.
