Simone Biles is, and Will Always Be The G.O.A.T
After dropping out of several competitions to prioritize her mental health, Simone Biles made her triumphant return. She won a Bronze medal for her balance beam routine. Twitter went absolutely wild.
This person was moved by Simone’s perseverance.
For some reason, I am so moved by Simone Biles’ bronze medal winning beam performance
— perhaps even more than her previous golds. Because this one has such symbolic meaning: it symbolizes her perseverance against adversity! Go Simone! #SimoneBiles pic.twitter.com/0ox75ZGKpH

Laurel Hubbard makes Olympic History
Equally as triumphant as Simone is Laurel Hubbard, a weightlifter from New Zealand. She’s the first trans person to ever compete in the Olympics.
Good luck to Laurel Hubbard in her bid for gold today, a seminal moment in trans sport history. ? pic.twitter.com/oApPefHhNL

Tom Daley is a Knitting Machine
British diver Tom Daley was seen knitting in the stands while watching women’s diving, and it was the most wholesome thing ever.
Can Tom Daley crochet too? Tara seems to think so.

Thirteen-year-olds Momiji Nishiya and Rayssa Leal as well as 16-year-old Funa Nakayama all won medals for women’s skateboarding and we are absolutely shook. Who runs the world? Apparently teenage girls.
