Allen Sequel Put On Hold

Production of Tim Allen‘s highly anticipated sequel to his hit film, “The Santa Clause,” is being put on hold due to script problems, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I think everyone has made the right decision,” said Reilly, the original film’s producer. “What we need here is a script that’s worthy of being the sequel to the original, which is a movie we all love. We want to get it right.”

In the original 1994 film, Allen starred as a divorced workaholic dad who is forced to take on the mantle of Santa Claus after the real Santa accidentally dies. The film grossed $144 million domestically.
