|
Nick Tellis (Jason Patric) is
a recovering drug addict. When the police department reinstates
him in order to investigate an elusive ‘narc’ squad homicide,
Tellis gets teamed up with volatile Lieutenant Henry Oak
(Ray Liotta), whose partner has been killed in the line
of duty to solve the murder. Their investigation leads
them through filthy drug dens, crack houses, and alleyways
to track the killer, but these all-too-familiar surroundings
plague Tellis like a nightmare. As Tellis gets closer
to revealing the truth behind the murder, he finds himself
in jeopardy of losing his family, his dignity, and his
life. |

Three men plot to free
themselves of their mates’ unattached, overbearing and seemingly omnipresent
older sister Eva (Gabrielle Union). Eva, who’s been in charge
of her younger sisters ever since their parents died years ago, has
an uncanny ability to interfere with her sisters’ business–which
hasn’t endeared her to their spouses and partners. The guys
concoct a simple plan: compensate cash-strapped ladies’ man Ray Adams
(LL Cool J) to wine and dine–and thus distract Eva from the sisters’
affairs. Sparks fly between Ray and Eva–but the plan goes awry, leading
to surprising consequences and complications. |
