Bret Michaels Will Continue Filming “Life As I Know It”

bret michaelsFilming of Bret Michaels‘ documentary series, titled “Life As I Know It” was halted when the Poison icon suffered a near fatal brain hemorrhage in April. Since emerging from the hospital on May 5th, Michaels has made a stunning recovery, of which the world has watched in awe. Still in the recuperative stages, Michales has twice-daily rehabilitative sessions and spends most of his time with his family, including young daughters Raine and Jorja Bleu.

But through it all, Michaels never forgot about his documentary series that would give viewers an honest glimpse into the life he lives when he isn’t touring or filming his VH1 reality show, “Rock of Love.” Now that the docu-series is back up and running, it will premiere sometime this fall. But fans will get a chance to see a snippet or two of the show when a half-hour special airs in the U.S. on May 31st.

Also on Michaels’ plate is the chance to win this season’s “Celebrity Apprentice.” According to a recent poll, 70% of the viewing public are rooting for him to beat out the other finalist, Holly Robinson-Peete this Sunday. But even if the “21 Jump Street” alum snags the win from the bandanna-wearing vocalist, it seems to be general knowledge that Bret Michaels isn’t going to let his (very serious) hiccup push him out of the business. He will return to the musical stage on May 28th in Mississippi, but before that, he’ll have a sit-down with Oprah on May 19th where he’ll recall the hardships of his past few months. Of the pressure of continuing to heal while pursuing his career, network executive Jeff Olde said of Michaels, “If anyone can fight off illness and get back on his feet, it’s Bret.” And that’s exactly the kind of thing we like to hear.
