Goblins and ghouls, we’ve got some very good news for you. Though it seemed like TNT’s Tales From The Crypt reboot was dead, it’s still kicking from beyond the grave.

When we heard M. Night Shyamalan had teamed up with TNT for a 10-episode order of a new and improved Tales From The Crypt horror block, we were elated. It turns out the project stalled because of a number of road blocks that TNT is currently working through.

According to Bloody Disgustingwho spoke exclusively with TNT, a representative explain the situation:

“The underlying rights to this classic, vintage property are complicated. TNT and others have been pursuing a solution for more than a year, with significant progress being made. We look forward to the potential for further active development of this valuable franchise once the clearance process is fully resolved.”

In other words, there’s some sort of rights or clearance issue that halted development. Hopefully, TNT will get it sorted soon because we can’t think of a better director to take on the series than M. Night Shyamalan. We just can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
