It’s impossible for us to truly describe our love for the MTV’s Video Music Awards. The VMAs are a time-honored tradition where girls kiss girls (remember Madonna and Britney Spears!) and celebs call out other celebs (looking at you Kanye West and Taylor Swift). Each year, the VMAs have some sort of scandal whether it be that whole Miley Cyrus twerking on a creepy Robin Thicke or Nikki Minaj and that whole, “Miley, what’s good?” thing. The actual nominations are often overshadowed by the show’s drama — but not this year.
This year’s nominations are amazing! Beyonce — Queen Bee, Our Lady Of Sassy Girl Power Jams — is nominated for 11 awards for her amazing visual album Lemonade. She’s even up against herself in one category. Adele also scored eight nominations, seven which are for the epic “Hello” video. For reference, “Hello” has been watched on YouTube over a million times, and if you haven’t seen that SNL parody, you’ve got to get on it. Other nominees include Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake and Ariana Grande.
