TMZ is reporting that Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital last night for what are believed to be substance abuse-related issues. The 49-year-old actress, whose high-profile May-December marriage to Ashton Kutcher ended in November amid reports of the Two and a Half Men star’s allegedly rampant womanizing, was picked up by paramedics following a 911 call placed at 10:45 pm on Monday. She is apparently headed for a facility to seek treatment for whatever it is that’s ailing her.
A rep for Moore dutifully played down the incident and its aftermath to TMZ: “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.” And so it would appear that the insidious and poorly understood plague known as “exhaustion” has claimed yet another Hollywood victim. We wish Demi a speedy recovery.
