You know, in many ways, relationships are just the greatest things ever. They make you feel good about yourself and your outlook on life is great when you’re with someone you love. You’re suddenly really passionate about things you didn’t used to care about, like recycling, and you’re willing to go out of your way to recycle, even though your building doesn’t recycle so you end up recycling all your recyclables on Sunday, which you name “recycling day.” In other words, when you’re newly in love, you do things you wouldn’t necessarily do when you’re single because your brain chemistry has been altered and you don’t think straight. Another thing that people do when they’re in love that they wouldn’t do if they weren’t in love is get tattoos of the person’s face that they’re in love with. Which of course is a bad idea because not only does the smoke from the tattoo gun alert the gods of the location of someone who’s getting too cocky, it jinxes the relationship and almost always sparks the downfall of the partnership.
Unfortunately, no one told Kat Von D that, because just before she confirmed her split from Jesse James, she got a tattoo of him under her arm. And while it’s a pretty logical gesture for someone in the tattoo industry to do for the person they love, it’s still kinda, I don’t know…unsavory. And still very much a mistake! TLC caught the whole thing on camera for Kat’s show, L.A. Ink, and they even filmed when Kat revealed the tattoo to Jesse. As you can see below, Kat and Jesse’s entire exchange is demented, and for someone who has so many tattoos already, it was odd that she completely lost it and claimed that she was so nervous to show it to him. I don’t have any tattoos or anything, but if you’re so scared about showing your boyfriend the tattoo you got of him and worried that he’ll leave you for it, maybe you should just stick to cats sitting on crescent moons and bubbles emerging out of a can of diet coke.
