Russell Crowe Gets Kicked Out Of A Gym

Russell CroweThe Internet has changed Russell Crowe. In the past, the actor has handled altercations by screaming at BAFTA producers, fighting in Japanese restaurants, and throwing phones at hotel employees. But now, Crowe takes his problems out on Twitter.

Yesterday, March 21, Crowe was denied entry to Virgin Active’s Royal Berkshire Health & Racquets Club in Bracknell, England. Crowe has been shooting Les Miserables in the area, and checked out the gym in hopes of working out. Due to the fact that Crowe is not a member of the gym, the staff prohibited him from using the facilities.

And on flowed the Twitter rage. Crowe posted, “hoity toity staff with chav accents. What’s with that? Advice to @virginactiveUK and @richardbranson have fit/smart folk rep your brand,” on the social networking site, followed by a slew of messages on the same theme. Crowe engaged with individual Tweeters, many of whom backed the actor’s rage, expressing his appreciation for their support and his immense distaste for the establishment and its staff.

Earlier today, March 22, Crowe recanted some of the passion in his vengeful Tweets. “@viginactiveuk I have realised my tweet yesterday was unkind. Sorry to the thousands of hard working & dedicated staff that keep UK active.”

Thank you, Twitter, for acting as Crowe’s venting outlet.
