It looks like one day getaways to Mexico are over for Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn because People Magazine is reporting that they have broken up. Insiders thought something was off when Scarlett was not present when Sean’s movie, The Tree of Life, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, but her absence was just attributed to the fact that she was back in Mexico filming The Avengers, in which she reprises her role of Black Widow from Iron Man 2. Scarlett and Sean were last seen together in April at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington D.C. and at a few dinner hot spots in L.A., but nothing major because they were still in their first few months of dating and doing that thing where neither partner wants to reveal who they really are so all of their conversations together consist of how helpful TiVo’s troubleshooting team is. And since they’re actually not very helpful over there at the TiVo command center, the couple is forced to start filling the gaps in conversations with sentences like, “I actually don’t use forks for food, except when I’m cleaning lint out of myself” and “did you know if you throw a Corgi into a lake, you have to put a life jacket on it, otherwise it will sink and drown? Because I didn’t” and then both people realize there’s simply just no relationship to even be had. It happens. If only they’d made it to four months, when the relationship finally finds its footing over takeout.
