Anthony Anderson named in assault investigation

Actor Anthony Anderson is at the centre of a police investigation following allegations he assaulted a woman who catered an event for him.
The alleged victim filed a police report against the star earlier this year (18), claiming he assaulted her during a meeting about future business opportunities in 2017, according to The Blast.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson has confirmed the investigation is ongoing, telling the outlet, “We have a crime report listing him (Anderson) as a suspect in a crime. It is an open investigation.”
The full details of the unnamed woman’s allegations are not known, but the actor is dismissing her story.
A representative for the black-ish star says, “It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”
It’s not the first time the star has faced serious accusations – in 2004, an extra on the Memphis, Tennessee set of Hustle & Flow accused Anderson and an assistant director of raping her in a trailer.
The case was later dropped.
