Catt Sadler: ‘Jason Kennedy and I were apples to apples’

Catt Sadler has hit back at an NBC executive’s claims that she was paid less than E! colleague Jason Kennedy because they had different workloads.

Presenter Catt quit her job of seven years after network bosses failed to settle a pay gap between her and her E! News and E! News Weekend co-host Jason. On Wednesday (10Jan18), Frances Berwick, president of NBCUniversal Cable’s Lifestyle Networks responded to the criticism, stating that Catt and

Jason did not have the same roles and, as a result, enjoyed differing compensation.

However, Catt has now replied to the latest statement, telling The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday (10Jan18): “My experience, frustration and disparity was based on Jason Kennedy and myself being apples to apples. We came to the network at the same time and did similar jobs. For people to use the argument that Giuliana (Rancic) somehow made more money than Jason, that comparison doesn’t work. They’re apples and oranges.

“She joined before him, she was managing editor, she had multiple shows on the network. It’s unfortunate that people who don’t work there are trying to be the voice for the network. The only story I can tell is my truth and the truth speaks for itself.”

Catt, 43, has been supported by stars including Debra Messing, Jennifer Lawrence and Eva Longoria since she went public with the pay disparity and quit her job.
