Christmas Movie Explosion – Part Two – TBS & NBC
TV has been flooded with Christmas programming for a good month now, but tonight is the climax you’ve been waiting for. Nevermind the barrage of made-for-TV sap-fests, two yuletide classics that stand at the top, looking miles down at the rest of the competition, are: A Christmas Story (1983) and It’s a Wonderful Life (1946).
If you celebrate Christmas, and don’t have at least one fond memory involving either one of these two movies, then this is your (not final) chance. Jimmy Stewart’s notorious George Bailey gets his once in a lifetime opportunity to turn his luck around on NBC, and Peter Billingsley’s Ralphie learns a very important lesson and discovers the taste of bright red soap–for hours, and hours–on TBS.
It’s a Wonderful Life airs Sunday at 8/7c on NBC.
A Christmas Story Marathon airs Sunday beginning at 8/7c on TBS.
