The results are in!
Emmy night is finally here and Hollywood.com has busily complied the results of our poll, where you told us the actors and shows you thought deserved to take home the most coveted prizes in television–and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took the cake.
For outstanding drama series, Hollywood.com users voted the crime show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as their favorite overall. The show, now in its third season, garnered one-third of your votes. The spy thriller 24 wasn’t a favorite for outstanding drama, but its star, Kiefer Sutherland, sure was hot in the acting category. The blond, long-faced thesp, who plays Jack Bauer in the series, was your favorite lead actor in a drama.
While CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was voted best drama series, its star, actress Marg Helgenberger, wasn’t your top choice for outstanding actress in a drama series. Helgenberger played second fiddle to Alias‘ Jennifer Garner.
Garner, however, isn’t Alias‘ only popular cast member. Victor Garber, who plays CIA agent Jack Bristow, was voted outstanding supporting actor in a drama, while Lena Olin, who portrays Laura Bristow, got your vote for best supporting actress.
As far as comedies go, Friends, which is entering it’s tenth and final season, proved it’s still a favorite–and so is its cast. You voted Friends outstanding comedy series, while Jennifer Aniston was your first choice for lead actress in a comedy series for her role as Rachel. Matt LeBlanc was your favorite lead actor for his portrayal of Joey.
But it was Will & Grace‘s supporting cast members who won Hollywood.com users’ hearts–and votes. Megan Mullally, who plays Karen, and Sean Hayes, who plays Jack, were your favorite in the outstanding supporting actor/actress in a comedy series category.
