Robert Downey, Jr. Injury Halts ‘Iron Man 3’ Production

ALTHey, Avengers! It’s time to assemble! Our boy Robert Downey, Jr. is in trouble and he needs our help! Poor RDJ suffered a bit of a boo boo and it’s causing some slight issues on the set of Iron Man 3, which is currently filming down in North Carolina.

According to /Film, Tony Stark managed to sustain an ankle injury on the set. Which, while it isn’t so severe to push back the release date (the film is still currently slated for a May 2013 opening), it was enough to halt production for a few days while he recovers.

In an official statement from Disney (the owners of Marvel Studios), it was explained that “Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.”

Feel better, RDJ! Ask your GOOP-y costar Gwyneth Paltrow to make you something good to eat since, you know, she’s into that sort of thing and all.
